Early Thursday morning, Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a crash on Hwy 18 in Hinds County where a bicyclist was hit by a car and is now fighting for their life. The crash happened just before 7 A.M. according to WLBT when the driver of a Chevy Malibu hit the bicyclist. This time of year, bicyclists can be seen in the streets, sidewalks, and trails throughout Mississippi. A 71-year-old women was killed after she was involved in a crash with a State Trooper Tuesday afternoon in Corinth, Mississippi. Mississippi Highway Patrol reported that the wreck with the state trooper killed the elderly women when she pulled out in front of him at the intersection of Highway 45 South and County Road 512 south. This past Labor Day Weekend, a 17-year-old girl died, and 10 others were injured when their boat crashed Sunday afternoon. The boat crash killed the teen when the boat carrying 14 passengers capsized about 16 miles off the coast of Florida near Miami. USA Today was told in their interview with Miami Dade Fire and Rescue that the boat hit a channel marker and capsized the 28-foot center counsel boat. Friday afternoon two children were killed in a wreck with an 18-wheeler and three others were injured when their car was hit by a semi-truck. The deadly crash happened on I-55 near Marston, Missouri around 12 P.M. Friday. Tuesday evening an airport employee was killed at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport Tuesday evening. The incident happened around 10:20 P.M. according to USA Today while the employee was unloading baggage from a Frontier Airline and her hair was caught in the bel loader. In a press conference Monday, Governor Tate Reeves announced the Jackson water crisis has reached a new level as Jackson residents will soon lose water to their homes, “It means the city cannot produce enough water to fight fires, to reliably flush toilets and to meet other critical needs,” and for those in the city that still have water he warns them not to drink it. Wednesday afternoon a 12-year-old pedestrian was killed after being hit by a vehicle in Memphis, TN.
