What You Need to Know About Credible Fear When Seeking Asylum

Credible Fear When Seeking Asylum

Now, more than ever, it is important to stay up to date and in the know about the changes and processes that are involved for the purpose of establishing credible fear when seeking asylum in the United States. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has implemented a new rule that gives asylum seekers less time to amend, correct, and seek redetermination of their negative credible fear results when an Immigration Judge affirms the denial of their credible fear. DHS has explained that with this new rule, individuals who are found to be ineligible for asylum “will be promptly removed rather than...

Offshore Injuries

Offshore Injuries

Offshore injuries are unfortunately very common due to many dangerous factors such as heavy machinery, poor weather conditions, and much more. While many people working in the U.S. are covered under workers’ compensation laws if they are injured at work, that doesn’t apply to those working offshore such as on boats or rigs. Those working offshore and injured on the job are covered by a whole separate set of laws known as the Jones Act. In recent news, several offshore workers were killed in a helicopter crash off the Louisiana coast that was carrying oil rig workers. This is just one...

As a result of this fall the Caterpillar employee immediately incinerated. Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)

Undocumented immigrants who came as children to the US are desperate for congress to act. Last week a federal appeals court ruled that the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program was unlawful at its inception. However, the Court did not dismantle the program yet. Legislators need to act before the end of the year if the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) is going to remain intact. Thousands find their applications in limbo as they await the final rule on the issue of DACA. Others remain hopeful that at the very least their current DACA status will continue to be...
