The Future for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals

Undocumented immigrants who came as children to the US are desperate for congress to act. Last week a federal appeals court ruled that the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program was unlawful at its inception. However, the Court did not dismantle the program yet.

Legislators need to act before the end of the year if the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) is going to remain intact. Thousands find their applications in limbo as they await the final rule on the issue of DACA. Others remain hopeful that at the very least their current DACA status will continue to be renewable. Without this program, thousands will be out of lawful employment.
