Hair Straightener Cancer Lawsuits

cancer from hair straightener

Studies have linked certain hair products, like straighteners or relaxers, with several types of cancer. You may be entitled to significant compensation.

The Journal of the National Cancer Institute recently published a study by the National Institute of Environmental Sciences that found a link between certain hair products, like straighteners or relaxers, and uterine cancer. The paper noted that a prior study linked these hair products with a higher risk of ovarian cancer.

Currently, we are investigating products from the following companies: L’Orèal (Softsheen-Carson): Optimum Care, Dark & Lovely, Precise, and Bantu; Revlon (Colomer Beauty Brands): Revlon Brand, Crème of Nature, and Fabulaxer; and Strength of Nature Global (Godrej Consumer): Just For Me, Motions, TCB, Soft & Beautiful, and African Pride.

Why are the Hair Straightener Products Dangerous?

We are investigating claims for the following health conditions: Uterine Cancer; Ovarian Cancer; Breast Cancer; Uterine Fibroids (benign or non-cancerous growths on the uterus that can be painful and may lead to pregnancy loss or infertility; and Endometriosis (a painful condition in which tissue similar to the tissue that grows on the inside of a uterus instead grows on the outside).

Cancer refers to any one of a large number of diseases characterized by the development of abnormal cells that divide uncontrollably and have the ability to infiltrate and destroy normal body tissue. Cancer often has the ability to spread throughout your body. Cancer is the second-leading cause of death in the world. Hair Straightener and Hair Relaxer products have recently been linked to cancer.

Why do Hair Straightener Products Lead to Cancer?

Lawsuits are being filed alleging that companies involved in the process of manufacturing, marketing, and distributing Hair Straighteners and Relaxers are liable for causing or contributing to Cancer. If you or a loved one developed Cancer resulting from a Hair Straightener or Hair Relaxer Product, filing a lawsuit could help pay for medical bills, lost wages, and lost earning capacity. Pursuing a claim will also encourage Hair Straightener and Hair Relaxer manufacturers to fully test their products before releasing them on the market, and to stop selling dangerous products altogether.
