Once again Jackson, Mississippi has made National News over their water issues. In a press conference Monday, Governor Tate Reeves announced the Jackson water crisis has reached a new level as Jackson residents will soon lose water to their homes, “It means the city cannot produce enough water to fight fires, to reliably flush toilets and to meet other critical needs,” and for those in the city that still have water he warns them not to drink it. Governor Reeves said that the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency will be distributing water to the 180,000 residents affected by the Jackson water crisis....

12-Year-Old Pedestrian is Killed After Being Hit by Vehicle

Wednesday afternoon a 12-year-old pedestrian was killed after being hit by a vehicle in Memphis, TN. Action News reports the crash happened around 3:30 P.M. and that the child was rushed to the hospital where she later died. The driver of the truck stayed at the scene and was detained by police. The Federal Highway Administration announced that the Natchez Trace Parkway awarded $54.3 million dollar grant to fix the safety for travelers in Mississippi. Jackson County Sheriff’s Department responded to an 18-wheeler wreck on the eastbound side of the I-10 bridge over the Pascagoula River. Both east bound lanes are currently shutdown. An 18-wheeler lost control during the continued rain plaguing the Coast, dumping metal, and causing accidents with numerous vehicles.
