Work injuries in Mississippi

Mississippi Workers’ Compensation laws generally mandate that an employee who has been hurt at work is entitled to financial compensation for their injury. While most people think they know their employment status; many claims are denied on this basis. For the first time in your career, your employer is now calling you an “independent contractor.” Convenient timing. Unfortunately, independent contractors are not generally entitled to the same protections under the statute. But don’t get upset too fast. Independent...

Hurt at Work

When a person seeks medical care for an injury at work, it is essential to remember that doctors are attempting to treat your injury. By timely seeking medical attention after...

Toxic Baby Formula

Premature babies often need extra nutrition to support their undeveloped bodies and offset their initial low birth weight. Many doctors will recommend using formula to the parents, but recent evidence suggests that some brands of formula can cause infants to develop necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), a potentially deadly digestive condition. To make matters worse, some of the manufacturers of baby formula, Abbott Laboratories, and Mead Johnson & Company, never added a warning label of their product, causing more unsuspecting parents to put their children at risk.
