IVC Filter Lawsuits

Problems with the designs of certain inferior vena cava (IVC) filters have caused many individuals nationwide to suffer severe complications and injuries when the small devices fractured or broke inside the body. Inferior Vena Cava (IVC) filters, or blood clot filters, are small devices designed to catch blood clots that may break free inside the deep veins of the body and travel toward the lungs. The spider-like filters are implanted in patients who are at risk for a pulmonary embolism, when they are unable to take anticoagulants or when those medications have failed. In August 2010, the FDA issued a warning to...

A growing number of reports are linking Bayer Healthcare’s popular permanent birth control device, Essure, with serious complications including Essure fetal deaths. What consumers do not realize is some of Dollar General's motor oil is obsolete, meaning it should not be used in certain vehicles. On the back of Dollar General's SAE 30 motor oil, in small print, it reads that it's not suitable for automotive engines manufactured after 1930. Two other types, SAE 10W-30 and SAE 10W-40, are not suitable for automotive engines manufactured after 1988. Using this DG product your vehicle can damage your engine, engine components,...

Increased number of Xarelto lawsuits underway

increased

An increased number of Xarelto lawsuits have developed recently, bringing the total number of  Xarelto lawsuits to over 13,000. Plaintiffs allege Xarelto’s manufacturers failed to properly warn them about the risks of bleeding associated with the anticoagulant drug. In just a few years, the group of Xarelto lawsuits has grown into a massive complex litigation coordinated by a single federal court. The Xarelto multidistrict litigation, or MDL, was set up in December 2014 by an order from the federal Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation. That order consolidated 21 separate Xarelto lawsuits into a single action, to be overseen by U.S. District Judge Eldon E. Fallon...

More than 60 million non-repaired recalled vehicles

Recalled

More than 60 million non-repaired recalled vehicles remain on our highways today, this according to Carfax, who recently released data showing facts supporting these recent statistics. It makes you wonder, if vehicle owners are not getting their vehicles fixed as often anymore, or do we have more open recalls on vehicles? The current data collected by Carfax suggests that people seem to have less free time to bring their vehicles to the dealership, as minivans and SUVs make up the majority of the non-repaired recalls. According to a Carfax spokesman, having a recall on your vehicle should make getting it repaired a top...

Highway

Recently the Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety released the 2017 Road-map of State Highway Safety Laws. In 2015, over 35,000 people were killed in the United States from motor vehicle crashes. This is the largest percentage increase in nearly 50 years. Early data that is still coming in from 2016 is even worse. Data from 2015 shows increases in every category, including unbelted occupants, motorcyclists, pedestrians, teen drivers, impaired and distracted drivers, and children. These numbers are very alarming and unacceptable. The problem is very clear; too many lives are lost, serious injuries sustained and needless costs incurred because of...
