Michael P. Gorden, Newest Associate Attorney

Michael P Gorden

Chhabra & Gibbs, P.A. is pleased to announce our newest associate attorney for our law firm, Michael P. Gorden.

Gorden, a native of Stone Mountain, Georgia, is a 2016 graduate of Jackson State University where he majored in Mass Communications and minored in Political Science. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 2019.

During his time at the University of Mississippi School of Law Gorden was selected as a 2018 Peggy Browning Fellow and Kaplan Bar Review Representative. He was also a member of the Black Law Students Association, Public Interest Law Foundation and Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity.

Gorden is currently an associate attorney at Chhabra & Gibbs, P.A. where he focuses his practice on workers compensation litigation. Prior to joining Chhabra & Gibbs, P.A. he served as Staff Attorney for Seventh District Circuit Court Judge Tomie Green and thereafter was an associate attorney at Mid-Town Law Office, P.A.

In his time as a trial attorney, Gorden has earned a reputable criminal defense and personal injury practice and has developed a niche practice advocating for tenant rights in landlord-tenant disputes. Gorden’s pro bono services include voting rights and contract negotiations.

Gorden is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association, Magnolia Bar Association, Capital Area Bar Associate, Mississippi Association for Justice and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated.

Michael P. Gorden handles Workers Compensation Claims (a no-fault insurance plan which is required for every employer in the State of Mississippi by the Mississippi Workers Compensation Commission with more than 5 employees except for charitable organizations and farmers). No-fault means that if you are injured at work in Mississippi, you are entitled to workers compensation benefits even if nobody did anything wrong to cause your injury) for our office. You can find more about our Workers’ Compensation cases here at our practice area section of our website.
