Automatic Employment Authorization Extensions
Eligibility requirements for the 540-day automatic extension are as follows:
- Individuals must have been issued an EAD card in one of the categories listed by USCIS. (DACA- and F-1 OPT-based EAD cards are not included)
- Individuals must have filed an application to renew their employment authorization prior to its expiration and based on the same category as the expiring card.
- The renewal application must remain pending for the extension to be valid.
