Cassandra Harmon

Cassandra G. Harmon is an immigration attorney with Chhabra, Gibbs & Trehan, PLLC. Her practice focuses on immigration, primarily family immigration, working with juveniles and victims of violence. Her family law background supports that work. Because immigration law is federal, she can represent immigration clients regardless of where they live.

Cassandra is conversational in Spanish. She was admitted to The Mississippi Bar in October 2025.

She received her J.D. from Mississippi College School of Law in 2025, earning certificates in Louisiana Civil Law, Family Law, and Pro Bono service. She won first place in the 2025 American Bar Association Section of Family Law Howard C. Schwab Memorial Essay Contest, an annual national writing competition recognizing law student scholarship in family law, for her essay “The Children Are Watching: But Who’s Watching the Children? Child Influencers and the Law.” She also received the American Jurisprudence Award in Trial Practice. In law school she served as President of the Hispanic Law Student Association and as a Senator-at-Large in the Student Bar Association.

Her experience includes Mississippi chancery matters involving adoption, child custody, child support, and visitation. The summer before her second year of law school, she interned at Mid-South Immigration Advocates in Tennessee, working mainly with asylum seekers and juveniles. She had lived in Tennessee about a year before law school. That organization has since closed. She has also clerked at a private personal injury firm and interned with the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office.

Cassandra is from Louisiana. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Studies from Louisiana State University in 2021, where she made the Dean’s List, received the Distinguished Communicator Award, and served as President of the Child and Family Studies Student Association.
