Rogen K. Chhabra is a founding partner of Chhabra, Gibbs & Gustavis, P.A. Since joining The Mississippi Bar in 1998, he has represented people hurt in 18-wheeler and other motor vehicle crashes, injured workers, and families in wrongful death cases.
Trucking and 18-wheeler crash cases lead his practice. He also represents injured workers under the Mississippi Workers’ Compensation Act, has appeared before all of the judges of the Workers’ Compensation Commission, and has handled settlements, trials, and appeals to the Full Commission and the Court of Appeals.
Rogen has worked on the law as well as in it. In 2009 he testified before the Mississippi House Insurance Committee on reforms to the Workers’ Compensation Act, and in 2012 he lectured at the Mississippi Bar Convention and for the Mississippi Association for Justice on that year’s legislative changes to the Act. He served as President of the Mississippi Association for Justice in 2013–2014.
Rogen grew up in Meridian, Mississippi. He is licensed in Mississippi and Colorado, and he served as Bentonia Municipal Court Judge from 2010 to 2023. He is also a partner in two sister firms: Chhabra Gibbs & Herrington PLLC, a national mass tort and class action firm, and Chhabra, Gibbs & Trehan, PLLC, an immigration firm. He coached mock trial at Clinton High School for five years and at Madison Central High School from 2004 to 2020; his 2014 team won the Magnolia Bar Mock Trial Competition. Since 2008 he has coached MC Law’s AAJ trial competition team.
Rogen’s appeals include Carter v. C&S Canopy, Inc., a case that arose from an 18-wheeler sideswiping a vehicle on the shoulder of I-10, and Strong v. Acara Solutions, Inc., which asked whether an injured worker could pursue his injury lawsuit after his bankruptcy case ended. Strong went to the Mississippi Court of Appeals twice and to the Mississippi Supreme Court in 2026.
