Attorneys Lead AAJ Mock Trial Team to Victory

team

Chhabra & Gibbs, P.A. Attorneys, Rogen Chhabra and Amanda Fritz, were recently asked to coach a team of law students for the American Association of Justice mock trial competition. Since Chhabra & Gibbs, P.A. has a passion for giving back to the community and coaching the next generation of experienced trial attorneys, Rogen Chhabra and Amanda Fritz gladly agreed.  The two attorneys, along with attorneys Eric Brown of the MS State Public Defender’s Office, and Jessica Pulliam of the MS Bureau of Narcotics, trained the students to present factual proof, introduce evidence, cross-examine witnesses, and deliver opening statements and closing arguments in a mock car wreck case that involved medical negligence.

Under the leadership of Rogen Chhabra and Amanda Fritz, the students advanced to the Final Round of the competition on March 4, 2018, which was held at the Hugo L. Black United States Courthouse in Birmingham, Alabama.  The team was then selected as the winner of the competition, winning the title of Student Trial Advocacy Competition Champion.  The students will now move on to the National competition which will be held in Raleigh, North Carolina in April, 2018.
