Tiene derecho a acudir al m\u00e9dico que elija, siempre y cuando lo haga antes de someterse a la cirug\u00eda y en un plazo de seis meses desde la fecha de la lesi\u00f3n. Es fundamental contratar a un abogado en las primeras fases del caso para que le ayude a navegar por el proceso de tratamiento m\u00e9dico antes de que sea demasiado tarde y se vea atrapado con un m\u00e9dico que favorece a los empleadores y a las compa\u00f1\u00edas de seguros.<\/p>\n<p>Una evaluaci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica del empleador (EME) es una cita \u00fanica con un m\u00e9dico elegido por el empleador y la aseguradora para analizar, evaluar y resumir el estado m\u00e9dico de un trabajador lesionado. Una evaluaci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica independiente (IME) es muy similar, pero con la diferencia de que, en el caso de una IME, el m\u00e9dico es elegido por el juez o por acuerdo de las partes, y se supone que debe aportar una visi\u00f3n imparcial a la hora de evaluar y determinar el estado m\u00e9dico de una persona.  Los empleadores tienen derecho a una evaluaci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica del empleador en cada caso, mientras que las IME deben ser acordadas por la compa\u00f1\u00eda de seguros y el abogado del trabajador lesionado, o designadas por un juez. Independientemente del tipo de evaluaci\u00f3n a la que se le env\u00ede, es importante recordar que los m\u00e9dicos son profesionales cualificados.  Muchos trabajadores lesionados piensan que exagerando los s\u00edntomas de su lesi\u00f3n laboral tendr\u00e1n m\u00e1s posibilidades de ganar el caso. Sin embargo, los m\u00e9dicos suelen ser capaces de determinar si los s\u00edntomas que usted describe se corresponden con los resultados objetivos de pruebas como tomograf\u00edas computarizadas, resonancias magn\u00e9ticas y radiograf\u00edas. Lo m\u00e1s importante que debe recordar cuando acuda a una evaluaci\u00f3n es no intentar exagerar sus s\u00edntomas. Ser sincero y honesto con respecto a c\u00f3mo se siente hablar\u00e1 por s\u00ed solo.
